Today was our first day back at school and we started it off right, with a field trip! We went to the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum.

Before we went in the kids chose their favorite balloons on the tiles outside.

This was my favorite new thing learned. I couldn't even imagine falling that fast and that long. CRAZY!! (click on the picture to read it)

Hayley and Gage of course loved all the hands-on things that the mesuem offers.

But their favorite was the balloon flight simulator.

They both got a try and realized how hard it is to fly something with no steering.

They had this basket set up with a backdrop for all those wanting a (fake) picture in a balloon. See how cooperative my son is?

It was a fun day and a good way to start the school year. I'm excited about the new year and Gage is too (I thought I'd start him now since he's ready even though he wouldn't be in kindergarten till next year) so we'll see how it goes!

I homeschool my kids and we start early so I can throw the younger two outside while I teach. And take more days off in-between.
